IV Sedation

IV Sedation

The dental staff at Fioritto Family Dental is committed to ensuring a comfortable and positive experience for every patient, even those who suffer from dental anxiety.  Maintaining good oral health is important, and you naturally want to enjoy a radiant smile, but dental anxiety can keep you from scheduling needed appointments for care.  With IV sedation in our office, paired with anesthetic as needed, you can enjoy a relaxing and pain-free dental experience every time.

The trained and experienced team at Fioritto Family Dental is happy to offer a variety of sedation dentistry techniques to suit the needs of every patient.  If you suffer from dental anxiety that’s impacting your oral health and keeping you from enjoying your best smile, feel free to ask about sedation dentistry.

IV Sedation for Dental Work

When patients need help to relax during dental visits, we’re happy to provide a variety of sedation dentistry options, including oral, inhaled, or IV sedation.  Oral sedation is taken in pill form, and while this is ideal for patients that prefer to avoid needles, it does take 30-60 minutes to take effect.

Inhaled sedation, or nitrous oxide, is administered in an oxygen mixture into the nose.  It will induce a feeling of happy relaxation while keeping you fully conscious and alert.  This is a safe and effective means of combatting dental anxiety without impairment.

Finally, you may want to discuss IV sedation if you suffer from particularly severe dental anxiety or you’re facing a long and intensive procedure.  IV sedation is administered intravenously (through the vein).

This is the most potent form of sedation dentistry, and you will experience a deeply relaxed state.  Highly-trained sedation specialists at Fioritto Family Dental will monitor and adjust sedation throughout treatment to ensure your safety and comfort.

The main draw of this type of sedation is that you will remember almost nothing about your treatment when the sedative wears off.  For patients that experience significant dental anxiety, this is often the most attractive option.
